Teaching Svaroopa® Yoga

Entering the Svaroopa® Yoga Teacher Training Program is a serious undertaking.  This extensive training program uses a modular approach, with classes taken segment by segment with no more than 6 months between courses.  It truly is going to college - Yoga College.

Standards are the highest and the structure of the entire training program shows this.  Just like college, Master Yoga classes are taken in a prescribed order with electives available to suit a teacher's individual interests.

The core of the YTT program is comprised of four compassionate, but rigorous, 10-day intensives.

Levels 1 & 2 require a total of 347 hours of professional training including classroom instruction, homework, and phone mentoring.  Tested time and again by the professional Teacher-Trainers at Master Yoga, successful completion of these first two components is equivalent to receiving an AAS degree as a yoga teacher.

The Levels 3 & 4 component completes a total of 685 hours of professional training.  Successful completion of these levels is the equivalent a BA degree as a yoga teacher and you are now a Certified Svaroopa® Yoga Teacher (CSYT).

And the learning doesn't end with a CSYT certification.  Because this is a "living yoga", teachers continue their training with periodic "post-graduate" classes to keep up with the latest teaching techiniques from Master Yoga.

All this training is necessary because a yoga teacher must know how to handle other people's bodies.  Students come in with aches and pains or other genuine physical problems - and an effective yoga teacher must know what the student needs to do.  Svaroopa® Yoga teachers are recognized as the most qualified and highly trained teachers, with unsurpassed skill in handling diverse bodies.
